The Danville United Methodist Church was established in 1822 as part of the United Methodist Church, a denomination founded in America in 1784. The first building was constructed in 1822 until a fire on January 22nd, 1884 burned it and the bank building next door, to the ground. After many months of fundraising the rebuilding of the church was finally complete in early 1885. Luckily the church survived the Great Fire of 1889, that burned most of the buildings in Danville Village
The 1885 church building is the one that still remains today!
